A Maravilha do Rio de Janeiro
2002, six-screen video, each 720x576, each between 2:00 and 6:00 looped - indefinite duration, no sound.

Based on the TV Globo (Brazilian TV network) television survey 'A Maravilha do Rio' (2002) asking the people of Rio to vote for one of six iconic locations: The Lake, Guanabara Bay, Maracana football stadium, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, or the Christ the Redeemer statue. This landscape moving image work can be understood as a continuation of the original television survey, engaging with locational identity and social connectivity.

View in the exhibition 'Remote', Plimsoll Gallery, Hobart, 2006. The focus of a chapter in 'Virtuality and the Art of Exhibition', Dr Vince Dziekan, Intellect Books, 2012.
